Where have all the Good Mom’s (Occasionally) Gone Bad been for the last few months? We can assure you, we have had our ‘Mom’s gone bad’ moments! However, we’ve either been too busy to update the blog, or maybe a bit too GOOD to have much to blog about, or more probably too BAD to want to share our latest parenting experiences! J
While there are surely mothers out there who have done or said much worse to their children, as Mom’s (and women!), we probably think much worse of our parenting skills than we deserve. If I drive through McDonald’s drive-thru more than once a week, I worry about the diet habits I am teaching my children. If I let them watch a bit too much TV, or something questionable on TV, I wonder if I am turning my children into lazy couch potatoes or corrupting them! If I send my children to school in clothes that are ripped or stained (usually because these are my child’s FAVORITE articles of clothing, and they INSIST on wearing them), I wonder what other people must think… (Do this child’s parents have no money? Do these parents not spend their money to take care of their children? Are these parents and kids living in a dirty shack?!) And if I yell at my children, I wonder what kind of mean, heartless, impatient mother I am, that I cannot keep my calm and handle all parenting situations with grace, kindness and forgiveness. How the heck do I expect them to behave and talk things out, when I become a raving lunatic on a bad day!?
All I can say is, thank God for other Moms to share this stressful, challenging, amazing, wonderful, wacky journey with! And that is what this blog is all about! We’d love to hear about your parenting challenges, and even some of your ‘Good Mom Gone Bad’ moments. And look for us on Twitter soon!
